There is a way to relax when building chicken coops

Hi I’m Brad and you know I’m used to being good at things. And if I don’t know how to do things I’m good at finding out how I should go about it. So my frustration was huge when I couldn’t find simple plans I could follow to build my backyard chicken coop.

Just because I wasn’t been brought up with a hammer in my hand, I don’t see why I can’t learn how to build things if I want to. But it all looked hopeless at the start.

I did actually buy some standard plans. Waste of money. I couldn’t read any of those poultry house plans. They had all sorts of notations and dimensions on them I didn’t understand. And while there were instructions, the writers all assumed I already knew how to do all the stuff I didn’t know how to do. I felt frustrated, angry and frankly a bit stupid.

What a relief when my friend Pete ‘pointed me in the right direction’. Finally I had chicken coop plans I could understand. And the guys who wrote the instructions must have been mind readers. They’ve thought of everything that would be a problem for someone like me and gave instructions that were real easy to follow.

Suddenly I stopped feeling stupid because I didn’t get it and started to feel my old competent self as I followed those chicken house plans easily. And of course as I followed along I was slowly building my great little chicken coop. And boy did it feel good to see it slowly taking shape.
